Club call Signs

1970sqslTelford and District Amateur Radio Society holds two club callsigns  G3ZME & G6ZME.

G3ZME is the original callsign that was issued to the club when it was previously known as the Wrekin Radio Society and is considered the main club callsign.  It is used in many forms but usually as GX3ZME, the callsign is held by our Vice Chairman Martyn G3UKV.  We use the this callsign on shack evenings at our QTH, it is also used prior to our transmitting for Marconi Day as GC3ZME (signifying a club callsign from Wales), and have also used it as GP3ZME from Guernsey, as GT3ZME from the Isle of Man. Look out for this callsign this year again in contests but also in our mini dxpedition to Guernsey GP3ZME/p

G6ZME is the clubs secondary callsign and is used on our portable events that we put on through the year.  The first time we will use this call in 2016 will be on Sunday 3rd April when we will activate it from Wappenshall Junction in Telford, part of a project to restore the canal basin to its former glory.  It is an ongoing project and a place that we will be operating from on a reasonably regular basis
